Pricing and Contracts

Pricing for larger projects generally falls into three categories: flat rate; time and materials (T&M); and retainer fees. These rate structures coincide with the three stages of a project’s development: Plan, Build, and Maintain.

The Plan is produced for a reasonable flat rate, agreed upon in advance. During this stage, we will collaborate with you to arrive at a workable schedule and budget for the build and maintenance stages of the project. These are based on parameters such as project requirements and time to market.

The cost of the Build phase will be an estimated range of T&M services based on specifications outlined in the product plan, and may include a cap that cannot be exceeded without your written permission.

In the Maintain phase, work is generally undertaken for a flat-rate monthly retainer, which includes a set range of hours for services rendered.

In the process of revolutionizing the publishing industry, online publishing has altered practically every aspect of our business, and the area of contracts and agreements is no exception. While most successful working relationships result from trust between people, a risk-averse online publisher will also take care that proper contracts are in place for online projects, covering such areas as:

  • Warranties and bug fixes for proprietary code
  • Non-disclosure agreements
  • Employment agreements
  • Contractor agreements and statements of work
  • Hosting agreements
  • Managed-hosting agreements
  • Privacy agreements
  • Security agreements
  • Disaster-recovery plans

Take advantage of OBS’s years of experience in navigating and generating the many agreements necessary to ensure a smooth online publishing experience.
